Meet the Ride Leaders
David Vollbrecht started mountain biking in 2000, but started road biking in 2010 as a way to get healthy and combat his recent diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. David has lived in Temecula since 1996 has been happily married since 1988 with 3 grown children. David has worked in the automotive industry for over 30 years currently at Temecula Toyota. David enjoys helping others find and improve their cycling skills and confidence.
Jen Orr started cycling as a triathlete in 2010 and has since completed six Ironman distance triathlons. She has focused her cycling in the last few years on endurance riding and climbing, completing the California Triple Crown of Double Centuries in 2016.
Steve Sanford only recently started road biking 2014 to increase fitness and loving the outdoors. Steve has lived in Temecula since 1996 with his wife and fellow road cyclist Donna to whom he has been married for 27 years. He has worked in the automotive industry for 30 years and is currently employed with Witt Lincoln in Mission Valley. Steve is active in and passionate about many outdoor activities including Search and Rescue, camping, hiking, kayaking, and his new love of road riding is no exception. Steve road Tour de Tucson in 2015 and 2016. He encourages all to get outdoors and ride whenever they can!
John Woolsey has been a constant mountain biker since 1998 and added road biking in 2013. He's lived in Murrieta since 2004 and knows the local trails and roads well. He loves turning cycling into an adventure. He is passionate about cycling culture and is an advocate of cycling for sport and lifestyle. He enjoys encouraging riders to reach their fitness goals while striving to cultivate their skills in order to become elegant, graceful cyclists first.
Larry Savage is an avid cyclist since 2011. Larry has lived in Temecula for 6 years. He’s been with Temecula Velo for the past 3 years. He has participated in several road trips with Temecula Velo: Solvang Century 2013, Mt. Baldy 2012 & 2014, Mt. Palomar 2014, Mt. Laguna 2015, San Diego Century 2014 & 2015 as well as The Temecula Valley Century 2012 & 2014. His cycling style is enthusiastic, spirited, friendly in nature, as well as helping to foster other riders achieve their goals & aspirations. The camaraderie & friendships that have developed while being in Temecula Velo, have been the most rewarding experience.
Randy Latzke is a avid cyclist since 1997. Married 25 years with two sons. Randy has run 23 marathons, but only cycles now. Very passionate about cycling and motivating others to ride ever chance they can. Lived in Temecula Valley for 25 years and believe it offers some of the best riding in the country.
George Niotta a four sport athlete in high school George struggled to find an activity that kept him fit as well as challenged him until he purchased his first road bike after college. He's been riding ever since. His motivation is simple; help others improve their health and activity levels through cycling. George counts as some of his accomplishments on the bike- GFNY 2013, El Tour de Tucson 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015 (Platinum) and Le Taupe 2012. George and his wife, Cindy have been Temecula residents since 1999.
